The Nelson Mandela Human Rights Moot, founded in 2009, is the world’s largest moot on general human rights. SMU was the youngest ever university and first Asian university to win this moot when it made its debut in 2022.
Latest Highlights
Duncan Lim and Ling Shu Yi represented SMU in the 14th edition of this competition. The team first qualified via the written submissions, before competing in 4 matches during the regionals. In the international rounds in Geneva, it won all five matches en route to the championship. Duncan was the 2nd Best Oralist in the preliminary rounds while Shu Yi scored the highest in the final. The team was coached by Kenny Lau’14.
