The Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot, founded in 2007, is one of the 6 Grand Slam moots that SMU participates in regularly. With more than 100 teams participating annually, it is the world's leading competition in its field. SMU has the best track record in this moot, having emerged champions twice, 1st-runner-up, and 2nd-runner-up in just a span of 7 years. It was also the youngest ever university to have won the moot.

The 2022 team comprising Zhang Yuqian, Keith Toh, Justin Lai, and Neela Alagusundaram won the championship after eight rounds of competition, securing SMU’s tournament record for most wins in this competition. The team was coached by Daniel Liu’13 and Luis Duhart’17.
