The Lachs Space Moot, founded in 1993, is occasionally a Grand Slam Moot. It is the world’s leading moot on space law. In 2024, SMU became the youngest ever university to win the Asia Pacific rounds as well as the world championship.
Latest Highlights
Elizabeth Ho, Raelee Toh, and Genieve Wu represented SMU in the 33rd Lachs Moot. They won the Asia Pacific qualifier and Finals Best Oralist in Tokyo, while in Milan, they won the world championship before a bench comprising ICJ Judges Tomka, Iwasaw, and Brant, as well as Best Memorials. The team was coached by Prof Chen Siyuan and Bernadette Teo '24.
