Howard Hunter Moot

The Howard Hunter Moot, founded in 2009, is SMU's oldest internal moot. Named after former SMU President and SOL professor Howard Hunter and sponsored by Rajah & Tann since the first edition, this moot is aimed at lower-year students and the subject matter typically deals with criminal law and tort law.

Latest Highlights

The 12th edition of this internal moot pitted Nur Liyana and Jill Tan against Chan Jia Fen and Samuel Chan. This year's problem was about the regulation of online falsehoods and the final was judged by Professor Chan Wing Cheong, Assistant Professor Benjamin Ong, and Paul Tan from Rajah & Tann. Liyana and Jill won, with the former winning Best Speaker.
