SMULA Certificate Programmes
The SMU Law Academy offers the following Certificate Programmes.
SMU-IPAS Graduate Certificate in Insolvency and Restructuring: This Graduate Certificate programme, jointly offered by the SMU Academy and the SMU Law Academy in collaboration with the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Singapore, is developed to promote professional development training and technical competence of existing insolvency practitioners, and to provide the necessary education and training for newly qualified accountants, lawyers, and financial professionals who choose restructuring and insolvency as their specialisation.
Professional Certificate in Legal Practice of the Future: Jointly offered by the SMU Academy and the SMU Law Academy, this executive certificate programme aims to arm participants with the knowledge and systems they can use to transform their firm/department business model from top to bottom. Focusing on such diverse areas as Technology, Business Development, HR, Operations and Legal Design, it is designed to be an introductory course giving insight and structure to processes in order to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
Graduate Certificate in Law and Technology: A joint offering from the SMU Academy and the SMU Law Academy, this Graduate Certificate is specifically designed for lawyers and legal professionals, and will give participants the skills to understand and embrace new technology, put LegalTech into practice, and understand the legal and regulatory challenges associated with technology.
Executive Certificate in Mediation: This Executive Certificate is offered by the SMU Law Academy in collaboration with the Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy, and is targeted especially at mid-career professionals keen to pursue a pathway as an accredited mediator, an accredited mediation advocate, or in dispute resolution generally. Candidates will be able to gain Level 1 professional accreditation as a mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI), and qualify as a mediation advocate at the International Mediation Institute (IMI), upon fulfilling the requisite criteria.
