SYNOPSIS

As global tax authorities step up their efforts in scrutinizing the erosion of tax bases and the shifting of profits through cross-border transactions, there has been an increasing focus on economic substance over legal form. Going forward, what might be feasible from the legal perspective might not necessarily work from a tax perspective.  In this regard, you as a legal counsel would be expected to have an appreciation of the relevant tax legislations to provide holistic advice in today’s business environment.

Through the course of this seminar, we aim to equip you with adequate academic knowledge on the relevant tax concepts from a  practical point of view. Case studies would be discussed from both the domestic and international tax perspectives. After the seminar, you would be able to identify key tax issues relevant to transactions such as cross-border sale of goods, provision of services and mergers and acquisitions.
