This expert masterclass combines the best of law and psychology to take your mediator skill set to the next level by equipping you with the tools to undertake a solution-focused mediation.
Specifically, solution-focused mediation offers a systematic approach to guiding parties through conflict that is goal-oriented and puts positive differences to work. It is a proven simple and effective approach to change. In this one-day advanced hands-on workshop, you will learn about and experience the solution-focused paradigm shift in mediation. You will learn skills, intervention formats and solution-focused questions that you can immediately integrate into your mediation practice. The workshop is interactive and practice-focused, while grounded in robust solution-focused systems theory.

INSTRUCTORS
Dr Nadja Alexander
Dr Nadja Alexander has been engaged in diverse dispute resolution settings in more than 40 countries as trainer, policy-adviser, scholar and practitioner. A multi-award winning author and educator, she is consistently recognized as a global thought leader in the field of mediation (Who’s Who Legal). Most recently, in 2023 she was conferred the inaugural award for outstanding international ADR educator by the Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration and Mediation. Over the years, Nadja has trained thousands of mediators throughout Asia, the Pacific, Australia, North America, the Middle East and Europe. She holds positions on the International Advisory Board of the UN Office of the Ombudsman and the APEC lead academic working group for Online Dispute Resolution. Nadja is Professor of Law and Director of the Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy at Singapore Management University with honorary appointments in Australia and the United States. Her books include International and Comparative Mediation, The Singapore Convention on Mediation: A Commentary, and The EU Mediation Law Handbook.
Anja Meinen
Graduate psychologist with over 13 years of experience in the international automotive and IT industry in the field of human resource management, leadership & conflict resolution. In 2010 she founded her own international consulting company together with a partner in Austria that supports companies, teams and executives in international contexts (Europe, USA, Latin America, China, India) with a focus on personal development, process change with an impact on people, conflict resolution and challenging leadership situations. She sees herself as a facilitator who offers resource-oriented services and thus strengthens self-responsible implementation. In doing so, she works in a solution-focused manner, integrating the systemic formats, schemas and theories according to SySt® - The Institute for Systemic Education, Training and Research located in Munich.
Anja is a lecturer at the SySt® Institute – focusing on the training of mediators, counsellors and leaders primarily in German-speaking countries. Given her international background she has played a major role in rolling out solution-focused practices internationally – either inviting acknowledged mediators, counsellors or leaders from all over the world to Germany or travelling around the world to teach these approaches.
Main fields of activity: Accompaniment of change processes; value, strategy and culture development; conflict resolution in highly demanding contexts; organizational development; executive coaching; education and training of (international) mediators, counsellors and leaders.
