SMU-RHT Legal Training Institute Part A Bar Course

Overview

The Part A Bar Course is designed to familiarise graduates of Overseas Scheduled Universities with Singapore law so that they can confidently sit for the examination and practise in Singapore.
Delivered online, this eight-week course will cover the five subjects set by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE): Company Law, Criminal Law, Singapore Legal System, Land Law and Evidence Law. Jointly offered by SMU Academy, SMU Law Academy and RHT Legal Training Institute (RHT LTI), the course will incorporate both academic and practical expertise, allowing participants to establish a well-rounded and solid foundation in preparation for the Part A Bar Examination. Taught by experienced faculty from SMU Yong Pung How School of Law and legal practitioners from RHT LTI, the course will provide specialised training to set the next generation of lawyers up for success in the Part A Bar Examination.

There will be eight three-hour sessions for each of the five subjects. Classes will be held online from 7:00 pm Singapore time.  This will allow participants to attend after work or even while abroad.

Important: Participants intending to sit for the Part A Bar Examination must register themselves with SILE. SMU and RHT LTI cannot do this for you.  There will be no refunds if for any reason whatsoever you are unable to register or sit for the examination.
