SMU Law Academy Launch Event

"Proving the Case: Beginning with the End in Mind"

Justice Aedit Abdullah
Supreme Court Singapore

SYNOPSIS

Proving a case at trial is a basic objective of any trial lawyer. But that objective may be lost in the midst of preparation for trial, the execution of the trial strategy, and the many details of the actual trial. In this talk, one judge’s perspective will be given on the importance of keeping that objective in sight, what can be done to facilitate the court’s determination in one side’s favour, and what unintentional obstacles can sometimes be created by advocates.

This talk will be useful particularly to young trial lawyers.
