Synopsis

This seminar will present an overview of updates in the 6th edition of the Arbitration Rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC") and the draft SIAC Investment Arbitration Rules released for public consultation in 2016.  It will provide critical insights into both new sets of rules with reference to various rules of arbitration from institutions such as the U.N. Commission on International Trade Law ("UNCITRAL") and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes ("ICSID").  The essential emphasis will be on practical implications for legal practice and the future of international arbitration in Singapore.
