Programme Structure

1. Duration 

The normal duration of the DLCG programme is four (4) years (Full-Time Only). 

2. Structure

DLGC programme will comprise the following,

  • Coursework equivalent (12 credit units)
  • Qualifying Examination (non-credit)
  • Doctoral Dissertation (18 credit units)

1) Coursework

Candidates will spend the first two (2) years completing the coursework requirements, which emphasize requisite skills in research and the ability to identify, formulate, and solve problems in practice. 

This coursework will feature two (2) foundation courses, six (6) core courses and four (4) elective courses, adding to a total of twelve (12) credit units. Students must select at least three (3) elective courses from the listed offerings.

2) Qualifying Examination (QE)

Upon completing the coursework segment (12 credit units), students will take the Qualifying Examination (QE) to assess their mastery of the foundation required for the next stage of the doctor programme.


3. Acceleration and Extension

Student can accelerate to finish the program within three (3) years if the dissertation is approved by the Dissertation Committee and other graduation requirements are completed. 

Student is allowed to request an extension at least three (3) months prior to the commencement of their fourth year, and additional tuition fees will be applied. The absolute maximum duration allowed for the programme is capped at five (5) years.
