Professor Tang Hang Wu delivers the Lee Kong Chian Professorship Lecture 2024 titled Broken Kinship: Making Sense of Common Intention Constructive Trust Claims in Singapore

Prof Tang Hang Wu, Associate Provost (Research Governance) and SMU Lee Kong Chian Professor of Law, shared insights from his paper which seeks to clear the ground in relation to claims involving the common intention constructive trust and advance a workable framework to analysing such claims. The Lecture also explored difficulties in proving the common intention between the parties and detrimental reliance through a close examination of the case law.

SMU receives S$20 million landmark gift from family of the late Dr Yong Pung How

Singapore Management University (SMU) has received a significant gift of S$20 million towards the Yong Pung How School of Law (YPHSL). Generously gifted to SMU by Mrs Yong Wei Woo in Dr Yong’s honour, this gift forms part of the 15th anniversary celebrations of SMU’s law school, which was established in 2007.
