SYNOPSIS

Developments in AI, blockchain, crypto-currencies, smart contracts and other emerging technologies have far-reaching implications for legal professionals in various areas of practice. As the Singapore Judiciary has emphasised, it is crucial for legal professionals to stay abreast of the latest developments in this regard.

This primer series provides legal professionals with a one-stop avenue to acquire updated knowhow about key legal and regulatory issues surrounding the use of AI, blockchain, smart contracts and other emerging technologies. Taught by leading experts in their respective fields, participants will be equipped with a nuanced appreciation of the practical legal and regulatory issues that have and are likely to arise. Instructors will peel away the jargon to demystify the underlying technology, so that participants can gain insights into the available strategies that they and their clients can embrace in response to, or anticipation of, technology adoption and innovation. This primer series comprises the following 5 modules. Participants can pick and choose which module(s) to attend.

• Module 1: AI, Robotics and the Law
• Module 2: Smart Contracts & Blockchain
• Module 3: Privacy and Data Protection Law
• Module 4: FinTech, Cryptoassets and Anti-Money Laundering
• Module 5: Information Security & Cyber Crime

Participants who wish to obtain CPD Points must comply strictly with the Attendance Policy set out in the CPD Guidelines. For this activity, this includes having their attendance recorded in the manner required by the organiser, and not being absent from each day of a module for more than 15 minutes. Participants who do not comply with the Attendance Policy for any particular day of a module will not be able to obtain CPD Points for that day of the module.
