Cryptocurrency and blockchain related disputes are becoming increasingly common around the world. In order to effectively deal with these disputes, practitioners must be savvy about the new technologies and novel points of law involved.
In this seminar, David Joseph KC and Chan Wei Jian will draw upon their extensive experience in crypto-related litigation (including in litigation arising out of the collapse of the cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform FTX in November 2022) to discuss the key strategic considerations when embarking on a crypto case. In particular, they will discuss:
- Proprietary issues relating to cryptoassets
- Jurisdiction and choice of law as regards cryptoassets
- Frequently seen causes of action in crypto disputes
- Interim relief in relation to crypto disputes
